Indiegogo Campaign

8 months ago, with the passing of Steve Jobs, we decided to start a charity to raise money with two goals in mind:

One, for the ongoing research, patient support and advocacy for a cure for pancreatic cancer;

And two, to promote children’s education through exploration and discovery in the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples.

We thought the best way to raise money and awareness was to create and sell cool T-Shirts. Thus, 4Sis4Steve was born.

With our own personal marketing and a few bits of publicity we have sold a handfull of shirts to our supporters, but we are no where near our initial goal of raising $10,000 in order to donate money to national pancreatic cancer funds as well as iPads to the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples.

So we turn to Indiegogo in hope that with your help, in donating and spreading the word, can reach our initial goal of $10,000 and even surpass it allowing us to donate even more!

4Sis4Steve: Fight Cancer, Get A Cool Shirt

As I’m sure most of you know, Steve Jobs died from complications related to pancreatic cancer. What you may not know is that you don’t have to be the CEO of the worlds biggest tech company to have the disease. In fact many people die every year from it. If you can take anything good from Steve’s death, it’s that with it, he brought pancreatic cancer to the forefront of people’s thoughts.

Two gentlemen have gotten together to capitalize on the new found awareness, and perhaps harness it in hopes to find a cure. These young men I speak of are the founders of 4Sis4Steve.com. I invite you to click the link and explore their page. On it, you will find their tribute to Mr. Jobs, a collection of colored t-shirts.

Steve Jobs’ technological contribution inspires charity

BY  ⋅ NOVEMBER 5, 2011
Apple fan or not, there’s no denying that Steve Jobs was an innovator when it came to technology. Described by many as a ‘visionary’, Jobs was largely responsible for the success of the Apple brand and the development of the multimedia tools that we take for granted today; the iMac, iTunes, iPod, iPad and, of course, the iPhone.

In memory of the man, his vision, and to help promote the discovery of a cure for the pancreatic cancer that ultimately led to his death, a tribute website has been setup cleverly titled 4S is 4Steve.

Selling t-shirts embroidered with the ‘4S is 4Steve’ slogan, in a variety of colours, all proceeds are split between two relevant charities; firstly for the ongoing research, patient support and advocacy for a Cure for Pancreatic Cancer, and secondly to promote children’s education through exploration and discovery in the soon to be opened Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples, Florida…         Read more here >>

Steve Jobs – 60 Minutes

Apple Posts Steve Jobs Tribute Video

Apple has posted a video of a tribute to Steven P. Jobs, the company’s co-founder, that took place last week at the Apple campus in Cupertino, California. (The video must be viewed in the Safari Web browser.)

One More Thing…

“One more thing…”

After being featured in the Naples Daily News today we received a wave of emails expressing support for our cause to donate 4Sis4Steve shirt sale proceeds to the research, patient support, community outreach and advocacy for a cure of pancreatic cancer, in which many shared stories of how their lives were personally affected by pancreatic cancer. One request was uniform throughout, for a purple 4Sis4Steve t-shirt to be created, as purple is the official color for pancreatic cancer awareness. Well, the people have spoken and we are proud to announce the addition of the Purple 4Sis4Steve t-shirt displaying one of Steve Jobs’ most famous and eagerly awaited quotes: “One more thing…” We hope our efforts are truly “one more thing” to help bring awareness and support to the cause of eradicating pancreatic, and all other forms of cancers, completely. We will try to get this new batch printed as fast as possible to fulfill all orders as they come in. Thank you again for all your support!

Here are a few encouraging messages from our supporters:

“I am extremely pleased to see what you are doing to raise awareness and funding for pancreatic cancer. I am a very active advocate for pancreatic cancer awareness – my mother was diagnosed on 10/25/10 and just passed away on 8/15/11. I am determined to do anything I can to help raise awareness for this long-ignored, lethal cancer. I posted a link to your site on my facebook page and one friend made the comment that they were disappointed that you didn’t offer a PURPLE t-shirt. PURPLE is the official color for pancreatic cancer – I would love to see the day when purple becomes “the new pink”. -Michelle B.

“love this idea…we need a shirt in purple!!! My twin just passed away from this horrific disease!!! We need all the support!! Thanks for supporting PanCAN” -Trish M.

“Hi Guys, My name is Ronda and I had the exact same cancer type that Steve Jobs had. I had my Whipple surgery in Jan of 2010. Since then I have started a Facebook page for Whipple Surgery Survivors and have several members. Did you know that the Pancreatic Cancer color is Purple? I’m sure I can set you up w/ many people who would want a shirt but I’m sure and I’ve actually seen some chatter that they want it in purple. Just wondering if that’s in the works. I’d love to work with you as I do speeches about my survival for groups for the American Cancer Society.” -Ronda A.

“I know that many of my friends have already written but I wanted to do the same and ask if you could possibly make a purple shirt. Purple is for Pancreatic Cancer and I just lost my daughter to this horrible desease. If you made a purple one I think many more people would buy them. Thank you for listening.” -Shirley L.

“To whom it may concern, Thank you for your support of increasing awareness for pancreatic cancer! I became aware of the disease after my best-friend was diagnosed at the age of 27. She fought hard for 8 months but like the majority of those diagnosed she lost her battle. It’s been almost 5 years and the statistics are the same as they were when Bridget battled it. In fact, the stats have been the same for over 30 years! It’s time for progress! It’s time to change the statistics! I have also been volunteering with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network since Bridget’s death in 2007. I truly believe in their mission and in the lives they are touching! Thank you for choosing them! I would love to purchase a shirt and honor the life of Steve Jobs, Bridget Fisher, and all those lost to pancreatic cancer! Purple is the official awareness color for pancreatic cancer. And November is pancreatic cancer awareness month. I am wondering if you have a purple tshirt? Or if you have any plans for one in the future?                                                                                           Thank you again for joining the fight!” -Emily M.

“Any chance you might consider Purple shirts? (Pancreatic Cancer awareness). My Dad was diagnoised on August 13, 2011 Thank you for what you are doing!!!” -Suzanne A.

Thank you for those and all others who have written in as well! We truly hope you enjoy your Purple 4Sis4Steve t-shirts and we appreciate all you can do to bring awareness and support to our cause!

A Visionary Lost

He was a man that arguably revolutionized how many Americans live – Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, died on Wednesday, October 5 2011. He was just 56 years old.

Jobs was a visionary, creating Apple in his basement along with three other men when he was just 21 years old. During his second tenure at Apple, Jobs built one of the world’s most successful and known companies through revolutionary changing the way we interact with the world from innovations such as the iMac, iPod, iPhone and most recently, the iPad.
